ELECTRO-BLUES ANNOUNCE CLUBNIGHTS IN LONDON AND BRIGHTON
AS WELL AS LIVE PERFORMANCES AND DJ SETS AT THE BIGGEST AND BEST 2013 SUMMER FESTIVALS!
Electro-Blues is the brand new double CD and download compilation of vintage meets electro, er, blues. Remarkably it is the world’s first. It was released in February this year and is already ontrack to achieve silver-disc status with Radio DJ's such as BBC6 Music Craig Charles stating that he's "going to play this album to death".
No surprise when you discover the album was put together by Freshly Squeezed, the independent British label who have been central in creating the phenomenal worldwide success of electro swing. They not only launched the UK’s first compilation series WHITE MINK : BLACK COTTON (achieving number 1 download album, a silver disc and critical acclaim) but they have also released music by all of the genres most important artists. Together with Continental Drifts they have since promoted largescale sell out London shows (Koko, Shepherds Bush) and also established a series of hugely influential international club-nights with both WHITE MINK and the ELECTRO SWING CLUB.
Now this same team is turning their attention to the BLUES.
Electro-Blues then, is all about the marriage of contemporary attitude (be it in electronic music production or musical approach) and swampy 12 bar rhythms. It’s about the meeting of crunchy programmed bass sounds and beat-box vocals with cigar-box guitars, electrified harmonics and earthy singers called Blind Willie Whatever. It’s where the 21st century technology slums it with foot-stomping vintage blues.
And in addition to all that amazing music and incredible bands, the live events utilize all manner of video projections, chicken-wire screens across the stage, evangelical preachers and more to ramp up the mood. Just about perfect for a crazy late-night festival stage you say…
