Alternative U.S Folk-pop duo The Sea The Sea (Chuck E. Costa and Mira Stanley) are excited to announce the UK release of their acclaimed debut album Love We Are We Love. LOVE WE ARE WE LOVE, released in the US earlier this year, is an ethereal force blending two voices to form a single sound, which is at once effortless, yet powerful and demands your full attention. | ||||
The name, The Sea The Sea is borrowed from Xenophon's Anabasis - the ancient Greek soldiers’ cry of joy when returning home from battle. The two first met 8 years ago, but didn’t form as a duo until 2011 when respective life experience brought them together again. Through early cowriting, it was obvious they had stumbled upon something truly special that became the foundation for the path to this debut record. Once they began writing and singing together, it didn’t take long for Chuck and Mira to weave their many voices into one. They’ve already received praise from NPR and No Depression and now, by enlisting the careful production of Todd Sickafoose (An DiFranco, Andrew Bird, Anais Mitchell, Nels Andrews), with accompaniment like tuned wineglasses and swathing strings, they’ve created an honest and ethereal debut album. The Sea The Sea’s harmonies weave back and forth to form an unmistakable and magnetic sound, reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel or, more recently, The Lone Bellow and The Milk Carton Kids. Through their gorgeous recordings of personal accounts marked with memorable melodies, Love We Are We Love is sure to be a favourite of 2014.
